Pigeon Pose or Kapotasana is an intersting pose with numerous variations.Sometimes you may see this pose referred to as King Pigeon.
This version of the pose opens the chest and also provides a deep backbend. The pose is an “asana” and the word “kapota” means pigeon. Most students find that it takes time and practice to reach the deepest version of the posture.
The pose offers numerous benefits including opening the chest, strengthening the back, and increasing flexibility in the hips.
