Karen is best known for her love of Pilates and Vinyasa Flow classes, but this time she will slow down and give you the chance to join her! This Yin style class will focus on a few restorative postures to help you feel grounded and restored. Yin style classes move at a slow pace and allow you to hold poses longer. Holding the pose longer will hopefully let you find a deeper version of the posture. Like most Yin style classes, this one will make use of blocks to aid you in holding the poses. Slowing down and being grounded will also allow you to focus on your breath. Overall, Yin style classes should slow your breath, mind and promote a feeling of relaxation. As always practice safely. Enjoy!
Karen is back with another class and this time she will guide you through a sequence filled with yoga blocks! Blocks provide much needed support and assistance for many students, especially beginners and students who may lack flexibility. If used properly, blocks can help prevent injury and make poses more accessible. Karen will use the blocks with a variety of postures and add a little fun to the practice. This class should be suitable for most beginners. Poses include Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog), Marjaryasana & Bitilasana (Cat/Cow Pose), Utkatasana (Chair Pose), Sukhasana (Easy Pose), Low Lunge, and more. As always practice safely. Enjoy!
If you enjoy both yoga and Pilates, this class will give you a little taste of both styles! Karen will guide you through some low impact small movement Pilates style exercises, and she will also toss in some traditional yoga postures along the way. You will spend all of your time grounded to the mat and this class should give the core a nice workout. We would suggest a towel for a little sweat but the class should work well for most beginners. No props are needed for this class. Poses include Marjaryasana & Bitilasana (Cat/Cow Pose), Forearm Plank, Salamba Bhujangasana (Sphinx pose), plus serveral Pilates core exercises and more! As always practice safely. Enjoy!
